LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
This wonderful event will be supported by the help and cooperation of the Polis and Co-plan staff. The staff is composed of a group of young and motivated researchers, PhD students and professionals, who will work closely to make possible this wonderful event.
Rudina Toto (PhD): senior expert in territorial and environmental planning and governance, head of planning unit and of the workshop on territorial governance at Co-PLAN. She is an expert in Spatial Planning, Urban Management, Regional Development, Environmental Planning, Decentralization and Good Governance. She has scientific and policy research experience on issues of environment, more precisely on ecosystem services and common property systems and commons regimes for natural resources. She is currently a lecturer at POLIS University.
Besnik Aliaj is one of the founders and the Rector of POLIS University. He is one of the co-founders and former head of COPLAN, a pioneering professional institution in the planning field; he is the founder of the architecture studio “Metro-POLIS”, and the “Forum A+P” magazine, the only periodic scientific one in the Albanian-speaking countries on architecture and urban planning; by considerably extending the range of his scientific, theoretical and practical contributions in the fields of interest.

Sotir Dhamo is one of the founders of POLIS University, and currently is the Administrator of the Founding Board of this university. Sotir is an architect and urban planner with a long experience in these fields. He participated in several research studies conducted by the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning since the early ‘90s, and later he contributed in other public and non-governmental organizations such as the Ministry of Public Works, Co-Plan, etc. Among other things, Dhamo is co-founder of Metro_POLIS, a studio acting in the field of Architecture; co-founder of Forum A+P, the scientific journal of POLIS University, the only Albanian professional periodic in the fields of architecture and urban planning, which is published only in Albanian version;

Sherif Lushaj is the Dean of Faculty of Urban Planning and environmental management at Polis University. His employment experience is focused on scientific research and teaching: Agricultural Research Institute Lushnjė (head of the soil chemistry sector and soil science), Soil Institute of Tirana (Director). For 10 years has been part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture for agro chemistry and soil science subjects.

Godiva is the Head of Planning and Urban management department at Polis University for more than seven years. She has More than 20 years in production of macroeconomics and external sector statistics at central institutions like Statistical office (INSTAT) and Central Bank. Part-time pedagogue in public and private universities both in bachelor and master programs.

Amanda is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Urban Planning and Environmental Management for the last two years at Polis University. She is an urban planner with an interest in Urban Policies, Transport, mobility and ICT, and GIS. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. with a focus on Transportation models. As a lucky planner to have participated in regional and local planning endeavors, she understands the importance of bringing together applied and theoretical knowledge.

Elona Karafili, is a qualified professional in the field of urban economics and finance, with varied experience portfolio, including her position as Vice Rector of Polis University. She is an economist by qualification, has a solid background in urban economics, which she teaches as a subject on a higher education level. After graduating from the University of Tirana, she completed her Master studies at Erasmus University, Rotterdam. elona_karafili@universitetipolis.edu.al
Altin Sula completed his studies at the Agricultural University in Tirana, at a time when he had the opportunity not only to engage in studies but also in many different trainings and projects. For a period of 4 years, he has worked again as an IT consultant in the business sector, EDEN Center, and has participated as an active consultant for a number of other organizations.

Kejt DHRAMI is a spatial planning and urban development expert. Currently she holds the position of Head of Territorial Governance and Spatial Planning Unit at Co-PLAN. Kejt has conducted her doctoral research on the connection between operational morphology and land development instruments. Her professional experience includes spatial planning, urban governance, housing issues and their relation to land markets, informal development, typological and morphological studies, building typologies and their integration to livability dimensions, etc. kejt_dhrami@co-plan.org
